About us Information Services Division (ISD) is the primary provider of IT services to UCL. We support and enhance learning, teaching, research and administrative processes by providing information- and technology-related services to over 50,000 staff and students of UCL and associated institutions. Our goal is to be the leading IT services group in the HE sector and we are growing our team’s capability in experience/UX, agile development, security, cloud, service management and partnering. We are modernising our technology foundations, digitising the processes of the university to transform experience for students and staff, and partnering across the university to drive differentiation in UCL education and research. This role is based within the Educational Media team (part of Digital Education who are UCL’s hub for supporting, exploiting and enhancing the use of technology in education) which oversees all UCL’s educational media services – lecture capture, live streaming of academic and research events, and a variety of media production services. The team supports the academic community to use and create media in teaching and provides a DIY media production facility for staff and students to use. About the role As a Media & Learning Technologist, you will be a key member of Educational Media and the "Our Media Environments" product team, supporting and providing training for staff in the use of UCL’s lecture capture, DIY recording, media streaming and live teaching services, promoting best practice, delivering end-user support, and managing online guidance and communications. As we expand these services, delivery of outreach activities for all aspects of the team and department’s work is critical. Job Ref: B01-04147 Closing Date: 07-03-2024 – 23:59 (UK time) About you As a Media and Learning Technology professional, you have experience of working in a technical support role planning, supporting, advising delivering training, technical workshops and working closely with individuals and groups. You have knowledge of lecture capture systems and understand the processes involved in media streaming and the delivery of live online teaching. Additionally, you have experience of moving-image production and have contributed to the development and testing of our media systems being responsible for supporting and documenting processes and managing technical provision for this area. You will also be able to demonstrate the following: An interest working in a hands-on environment, building close relationships with colleagues who support our VLE (Moodle), the AV teams providing room support and our Faculty based Learning Technologists to ensure they are aware of current and future service developments Good organisational skills and equally, excellent oral and written communication skills.
