The practices provide services for a diverse population; therefore, it is essential that you are able to communicate sensitively and effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and those whose first language may not be English.
Duties will include performing the provision of clerical support to doctors, Practice Admin Manager, and nursing staff in relation to referrals, requests for information and access to medical records and to plan and co-ordinate meetings and associated documentation.
You should ideally have an understanding of the General Practice environment and excellent communication skills. A good standard of general education, GCSE or equivalent Maths and English Language qualifications to Level 4 or above are essential, together with IT skills and the ability to work under pressure.
The post holder will need to be flexible in their approach to working, as staff move between all APMS practices for training and personal development, as well as covering periods of absence. Our service is open 7 days a week 8am to 8pm 365 days a year and successful candidates will be required to work shifts within these hours.
