We are looking for an experienced Clinical Secretary to join a world-leading veterinary on a 6 month fixed term contract.

- Audio and copy typing of clinician correspondence to ensure that routine letters are distributed efficiently within a three-day period.
- Audio and copy typing/typing from tapes of clinician correspondence, ensuring letters are signed and distributed in accordance with the hospital protocol.
- Ensure all test results are received and sent to Primary Care Veterinarian (PCV)’s in a timely fashion.
- Attend meetings within the hospital, take and transcribe accurate minutes and distribute as required.
- Manage Clinical Director and Hospital Director diaries in the absence of the Senior Secretary.
- Ensure accuracy through high level of attention to detail.
- Secure information by completing database back-ups.
- Maintain office supplies by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders.
- Keep office equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies.
- Be an effective member of the hospital team, supporting colleagues as required.
- Provide cover for colleagues’ absence.
- Maintain office files and patient records.
- Arrange travel for clinicians and Hospital Director as requested.
- Work in accordance with protocols and policies.
- Ensure that all responsibilities to staff and other hospital visitors under the Health and Safety at Work Act are met.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
This role would suit someone who is detail-orientated, has previous experience in a Medical/Hospital/Veterinary setting. You must be immediately available or on a short notice.
Working hours 9.30am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday and there is the option to work from home one day per week.
Salary for this role is up to £32,550 pro rata.
