Job Title: Senior Mental Health Healthcare Assistant

Trust Location: Lincolnshire

Pay Rates: £11.67-£19.72 DOE + Holiday Pay

Shift Patterns: Long days, Nights, Twilight and Split shifts

Metal Health Care assistants are essential in helping patients through difficult chapters of their lives, providing trust and being trusted, you're integral in helping patients on their journey home, giving patients hope and helping them to prosper and flourish.

As a senior Healthcare assistant, you'll be working Under the supervision of a registered nurse participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of high-quality care within a ward environment, through involvement in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.

Having an open mind and a flexible approach to Mental health care is key as this will enable you to establish the best possible ways to care for your service user or patient. You'll develop exceptionally positive and robust relationships with patients and their families, building trust and confidence.

As a Mental Health Care Assistant with NHS professionals, you'll be working across one of our Mental health units located across Lincoln, Boston and Sleaford.

What you'll be responsible for:?

  • To act as a positive role model to the service users and staff.

  • To demonstrate appropriate de-escalation skills in managing aggression exhibited by service users, subject to achieving agreed training and competency in Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression techniques.

  • Escort patients as appropriate to other areas of the hospital or outside the hospital as delegated by trained members of staff.

  • Completion of regular physical health observations, including the recording of these. Also completing the physical health paperwork within the admission process, including smoking / alcohol recording forms.

  • Supporting qualified staff in the participation of the care planning process.

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.?

You'll need to have the following qualification/experience:

  • At least 6 months relevant experience working with people with Mental health problems at a HCSW grade or equivalent within a health and social care setting.

  • NVQ Level 2 or above or Btec Diploma in Health and Social Care or Healthcare Support services.

**You will need to be able to commit to a "long Term Placement" of 2 months working a minimum of 3 shifts a week to apply.
You'll also need to be available to complete a 5-day PMVA training course.
