Mentor (Employment)

Conwy County Borough Council is seeking an Communities for Work Adult Employment Officer to join their Community Development service.

Communities for Work (CfW) is a European funded project developed by Welsh Government aimed at tackling inequalities and long term unemployment. The project has an innovative multi-agency structure which includes staff seconded from the Department of Work and Pensions as Adult and Youth Advisors together with the CfW Team allocated within Conwy's Communities First Cluster.

• To support individuals to address broad barriers to work; access to training, education, development opportunities and employment.
• To work in conjunction with the local Communities for Work delivery team in the development, implementation and ongoing operation of C4W within the Cluster.
• To regularly monitor, collate and update performance management information, reports and other monitoring requirements to ensure all Welsh Government and ESF monitoring is accurate and compliant.
• To have responsibility for supporting a caseload of clients (adults over 25), using a holistic, enabling and collaborative approach.
• To provide a flexible service, developing comprehensive support plans with clients and undertake further assessment and regular reviews as appropriate, in collaboration with Cluster teams.
• To be involved with the Triage Process within the Cluster and ensure that all relevant support is accessed and available to the client.
• To develop comprehensive individual action plans with clients and undertake further assessment and regular reviews as appropriate, in collaboration with the local C4W Delivery Team and Conwy Communities First.

What is required?

• Degree, relevant experience in the field of Community work, youth or equivalent
• Experience of providing support and mentoring either in an employment based or similar intensive support service
• Experience of working with customers who are experiencing poverty and barriers to employment.
• DBS.
• Able to travel around Conwy County.
