Mother’s Help / Personal Assistant(s) required in Costessey, Norwich
Ave. 10.5 hours per week
Every Thursday and every otherSaturday
Weekdays: £12.60 per hour and Weekends: £12.80 per hour2 x positions available
Job Purpose: I am a single Mother of a 6-year-old little boy. I have learning needs, epilepsy and a left side weakness. I am looking for someone to support me with domestic duties, school runs and to provide advocacy together with transport to and from activities and appointments.
Location: Costessey, Norwich
Details: I am a friendly, open, honest, bubbly, happy person that loves to get out and about every day, whether it be to a local coffee shop, family caravan outing, shopping centre or to visit family living close by. I love to sing and I’m part of a rock and soul choir, Invidia Voices. I like to watch music concerts and stream crime and medical dramas too!
I experience complex partial seizures lasting a few minutes, during which time I need to sit down and be reassured (I normally have some warning it will happen).
Full epilepsy training will be provided but the successful applicant needs to be comfortable dealing with seizures while supporting me and my son (when not at school) when they happen in a calm manner.
I need support and encouragement, team working, with domestic tasks such as vacuuming, cleaning, laundry, changing beds and ironing. I also need help with preparing meals as I cannot lift anything heavy and get tired easily. Batch cooking will mean there are meals available in the freezer for me and my son when needed. Another part of the role will be making sure that my home is safe and risk free. I don’t drive, so I’ll also need support to go to the shops, activities and appointments.
I’m looking for someone who is happy to be hands on and actively participate with looking after my son but also knows when to step back and let me get on with it, as I don’t want to lose the parenting responsibility. The successful applicant will ideally have experience of being around young children and families.
