Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
LOCATION: Chatham, Travel around UK
SALARY: 50-55K per annum
HOURS OF WORK: 08.00 - 17.00
REPORT TO: head of Engineering
DIRECT REPORTS: None
PURPOSE / ACCOUNTABILITY / RESPONSIBILITY 

- An excellent opportunity for a multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. 
- Must come from an industrial / manufacturing background, ideally steel and rebar.
- Must possess the ability to use their own initiative, as well as follow the service and maintenance schedule set on the CMMS system. 
- Must have strong fault-finding skills and be able to work on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. 
- Must be able to read electrical diagrams and mechanical and hydraulic schematics, as well as machine parts catalogues.
- The role is primarily based at our Chatham Docks depot but the department also services six Hy-Ten sites around the UK which are aligned with the maintenance service schedule. Therefore the candidate must be flexible and willing to work (and stay) away from home.

APTITUDE 

- Must possess a full, clean UK driving license.
- Must have completed an apprenticeship in engineering.
- Must possess City and Guilds NVQ level 3 electrical engineering or multi-skilled engineering.
- Must possess sound knowledge of 18th edition wiring regulations.
- Must have strong mechanical engineering skills.
- Must have experience of working on heavy industrial machinery.
- Must have PLC fault finding knowledge.
- Must be able to utilise their own range of standard tools.
- Must have the ability to read engineering diagrams and schematics.
- Must be able to adapt to flexible working arrangements.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
Preferable but not essential
- IPAF / mobile access platform certification. 
- Forklift ticket.
- OHELC gantry ticket.
- Welding certification.
