We are looking for Night Support Officer's (NSO's) to work a shift pattern of 4 nights on 4 nights off, working from 21:45 to 07:15 hours at the Beacon Children Centre in Grantham. The children and young people in our care are usually aged between 8 – 18 years old and as an NSO you will engage and communicate effectively with them, supporting their needs during the night should they require it.
About the role
Our NSO’s receive an enhancement of time and a third for all hours worked between 10pm and 6am. The shift rota for NSO’s caters for a 24/7, 365 days of the year service. You’ll work within a small team, under direction of management.
The NSO’s responsibilities include Night Support to the children and young people within our care, ensuring they are safeguarded and their welfare needs are met. In addition to this, you will undertake general housekeeping duties throughout the home.
About Us
The Beacon is a purpose-built home for eleven young people. All young people accommodated have been identified to have a disability and / or complex health or medical need. At present there are nine young people living at the Beacon, one girl and eight boys with ages ranging from nine to seventeen.
We ensure our employees are well trained in trauma and therapeutic support, enabling the children and young people in our care to feel safe and to thrive which is what we are passionate about. Our aim is to create a nurturing home where we support them to reach their full potential.
About You
Previous experience within a care profession is not essential for this role, as long as you have a good understanding of caring for children. Our residents can present with challenging behaviour and it is important that you are compassionate, have excellent communication skills, with a calm professional demeanour. You will need to have basic IT skills, be able to adapt to different situations and have the motivation to provide the very best care for our residents at all times.
You will be joining a successful and experienced team and we will provide you with the training and support required to develop into this role. You will be required to complete a Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma.
