LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university Salary from £26,208 to £29,519 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £31,186 pa inclusive of London allowance This is a fixed term appointment for six months to cover a secondment, with potential for a further extension. The Department of Management at LSE is seeking to appoint an Operations Assistant to provide day to day operational support to our staff and visitors (c. 150 people). This role will involve a wide range of tasks to support the upkeep of our facilities within LSE’s new Marshall Building at 44 Lincolns Inn Fields, including the kitchens, staff offices, meeting rooms, and student rooms. The role holder will ensure that everything is running smoothly with our facilities and be pro-active in maintaining basic supplies such as stationery, cleaning materials and tea and coffee, and ensuring faults or issues are picked up and resolved. You will also support faculty office moves and faculty/visitor induction at its intersection with facilities access and equipment provision. You will liaise closely with staff in LSE’s Data Technology Services and Estates Divisions. Due to the nature of the work, this post is based on the LSE campus full time with little opportunity for remote working. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and pro-active candidate who knows that getting the little things right makes a big difference. You will be reliable and personable, and able to inspire confidence in the people you support, with the ability to learn new processes and use various computer systems. No prior experience in either facilities management or the Higher Education sector is required but you should have some background in customer service or stakeholder management. You should also be physically able to move boxes and equipment on occasion (within reasonable limits). You will also have good communication skills, a commitment to keeping staff up to date with reported issues, and the ability to work under your own initiative.
