Operations Officer
Salary: £13.78 per hour (equivalent to £25,080 per year full-time equivalent)
Hours: 17.5 - 21 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
Contract type: Temporary cover 4-8 weeks
Location: Manchester (office based, no hybrid options available)
Charity People are delighted to be working with the UK's national LGBTQ Youth Homelessness charity. They provide safe homes, mentoring, and support to LGBTQ+ youth facing homelessness.
Role Purpose: As an Operations Officer, you'll provide crucial administrative support to the teams and ensure the office spaces are conducive to productivity and safety. We're looking for a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming phone calls and email inquiries.
- Sort and distribute post and deliveries.
- Maintain IT equipment register and assist with staff onboarding.
- Manage petty cash and office supplies.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate staff inductions and site orientations.
- Assist with health and safety matters and first aid supplies.
- Handle other administrative tasks as directed.
Person Specification:
- Previous administrative or office support experience.
- Strong organisation, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Passion for exceptional customer service and diversity.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in staff onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Voluntary sector experience.
- First Aid qualification.
