About The Role
The Operations Directorate are seeking to appoint an Operations Officer based in Portsmouth. It is anticipated the role will be based at The Portsmouth Academy, but it could be at other schools in the Portsmouth area of the Trust, which are within walking distance. You may also be required to travel to any of those schools in the course of your duties.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement and Operational Delivery, the successful candidate will be working with the local Facilities and IT Teams to support the delivery of the services on an operational basis. Duties will include responsibility for reactive purchasing, working with colleagues and suppliers to achieve best value for money and ensuring the supply of goods meets the needs of the schools. Other duties include assisting on larger projects and purchases, managing and purchasing items such as uniform for the teams, maintaining purchase and project spreadsheets and providing other administrative and operational support as required by the local team.

- Be an effective communicator and a team player, who is keen to expand the role so being flexible is a must.
- You will work as a team, with 2 other Operations Officer, who are based in Kent and Devon, supporting and covering for each other as required, on a remote basis.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly across Microsoft packages and have a good standard of education (GCSE maths and English at grade C/4 or equivalent qualification).
- Ability to learn new systems, interpret data, have experience of being an effective and organised administrator and demonstrate experience in managing your own workload, being able to identify areas of service delivery to provide support on and proactively undertaking that.
This role will specialise in contract management, so previous experience would be an advantage, but is not essential, as on the job training will be provided so that the successful candidate can provide advice and assistance across the various contracts within the team.
