Organisational Development Team at NTU

Roles available:

Head of Organisational Development
Organisational Development Partner
Associate Organisational Development Partner

About Us

Nottingham Trent University strives to be a University and employer of choice and effective Organisational Development is pivotal towards our future success. Working collaboratively with specialists in our EDI, HR, and Health and Wellbeing, the Organisational Development team will play a crucial role in ensuring that our people are supported to thrive and flourish in an environment dedicated to continuous improvement.

We are developing our team to support NTU through a time of significant change and opportunity, working across the entire people agenda. That means we are looking for experienced OD practitioners who have significant experience of delivery in a change environment and who can think creatively to engage and support our university colleagues.

You will be working within a high performing, ambitious team that is excited about creating a new vision for OD in line with our university strategy, University Reimagined.  It is not essential to have higher education experience, but it is essential to have a track record in Organisational Development, coupled with high degrees of emotional intelligence, pragmatism and common sense.

For all roles, hybrid working; part time and job share arrangement will be considered. For any informal queries about the role or the OD team, please contact Alastair Wilson, Associate Director of Organisational Development & Culture at Alastair.Wilson@ntu.ac.uk

Details of each role profile are shown below; we will still consider applications even if you don't meet all of the requirements.

Head of Organisational Development

Salary £63,702 - £71,052 per annum
Full time, permanent contract

For this role, it is essential to evidence strong leadership skills. Reporting to the Associate Director of Organisational Development & Culture, you will inspire and lead a high performing, strategic, highly valued team.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Ability to act as a role model, promoting an inclusive, high-performance team culture across the University that enables all colleagues to do their best work.
  • Superb relationship building skills to ensure impact across a wide range of  stakeholders, gaining insights into their issues and concerns in the context of ongoing change and offering tailored, cost-effective and timely solutions.
  • Leadership capability to manage the OD team to develop holistic, people-centred solutions across a broad OD agenda, including  for example: leadership development, change, talent, organisation design and new ways of working, etc.
  • Foresight to anticipate future opportunities to grow the department’s work and influence, both internally and externally
  • Project and programme skills to design, implement, deliver and evaluate interventions that positively impact on organisational-wide culture and practice.
  • Professional curiosity to access OD best practice and thought leadership, considering how best to incorporate these into our department’s work.

Organisational Development Partner

Salary £43,392 - £54,919 per annum
Full time, permanent contract

Associate Organisational Development Partner

Salary £37,458 - £42,135 per annum
Full time, permanent contract

Using diagnostic and dialogic techniques, you will design and deliver tailored OD solutions, partnering closely with school and departmental leads as well as other HR colleagues, to research, curate, and create interventions that foster high performing, inclusive and agile teams. Reporting to the Head of OD, you will contribute your expertise and insights across the entire people and Organisational Development agenda. A natural relationship builder, you will have a strong track record in OD and may have particular specialisms, for example, leadership consulting, change management, occupational psychology, etc. For the more senior role, some line management experience is also needed as we put a strong focus on developing our people, professionally and personally.   To succeed in these roles, you need to be able to demonstrate:

  • A strong track record of Organisational Development, with evidence of diagnostic and dialogic approaches
  • Influencing skills to inspire and support colleagues in response to ongoing change
  • Programme and project management skills to work across a wide range of OD specialisms, offering tailored, cost-effective and timely interventions
