An estimator checks and carries out estimates on vehicles using estimating equipment prior to repairs being carried out. Other tasks will also include providing cover for team leaders in case of absence or holidays, Moving car's in the Paint Shop and also in or around other departments.
Support other areas within the Paint Shop.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Estimate cars prior to paint work.
- Issue stock to Employee's
- Manage the ordering and usage of sundries, materials and parts.
- General administration work including filing reports and closing job sheets.
- Read and understand job instructions prior to estimating vehicles.
- Provide cover for team leaders in their absence.
- Carry out vehicle inspections in other departments when required.
- Raise and distribute job sheets to team leaders.
- Answer queries/questions about jobs in-house.
- Collect new parts and distribute to the right vehicles when required.
- Take & collect vehicles from other departments when required.
- Carry out quality check to vehicles when required.
- Keep housekeeping to a high standard.
- Jet wash vehicles after final checks before they leave the Paint Shop when required.
- Ensure good standards of workmanship.
- Ensure all work is carried out within health & safety guidelines.
- Undertaking any other ad hoc tasks as requested by Management and other senior staff

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- NVQ level 3 in motor repairs or equivalent
Valid and full driving licence
Excellent communication skills
Self motivation
Ability to work on own initiative
