Paraplanner / Financial Planner, The Role: I am recruiting an experienced and technically astute Paraplanner (Financial Planner) on behalf of Paradigm Norton, an award-winning financial planning firm. The successful Paraplanner (Financial Planner) will work closely with a senior Client Director, creating comprehensive and bespoke financial plans that align with clients’ goals and aspirations. Given the complexity of the service delivered to this select group of high-net-worth clients the successful Paraplanner (Financial Planner) will be highly technical and Diploma qualified as a minimum. This is not an advising role, but you will be an important part of client meetings and will be responsible for technical research, cash flow modelling, preparing detailed reports, producing recommendations and delivering an exceptional client service. With time there will be the opportunity to move into advising.

Home Working and Flexibility: We are happy to facilitate a degree of home working (c. 2 days per week) but as this role is supporting a Bristol based Client Director, with heavy involvement in client meetings, a willingness to travel to the Bristol office is essential (BS20, with easy access to M4/M5)). We are also happy to consider flexible or part-time working arrangements (shorter working days, 4-day week etc.)

Working alongside the Client Director to deliver a highly personalised holistic financial planning service to a select group of clients, the Paraplanner (Financial Planner) responsibilities will include:
- Financial analysis and research - Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of various financial products, investment opportunities, retirement plans, estate planning, and risk management solutions. Collaborate closely with the Client Director to evaluate and recommend suitable financial strategies that align with the clients’ needs and objectives. Monitor and review client portfolios, identifying opportunities for optimisation and presenting recommendations based on market trends and performance analysis.
- Relationship Management - Attend client meetings, developing relationships and acting as a point of contact for clients, providing ongoing support throughout their financial journey. Collaborate with the Client Director and other internal teams to ensure seamless alignment of strategies and client satisfaction.
- Technical Support and Compliance - Provide technical support to the Client Director, offering guidance, clarifying complex concepts, and assisting in the implementation of financial strategies. Stay informed about regulatory frameworks, legislation, and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
- Report Preparation and Documentation - Prepare accurate and detailed financial reports, including investment summaries, cash flow projections, retirement plans, estate plans, and risk assessments, tailored to meet the client’s requirements. Ensure all reports adhere to regulatory guidelines and internal standards and maintain organised and up-to-date client records.
- Process Improvement - Stay informed of emerging trends, industry advancements, and technological innovations related to financial planning for high-net-worth individuals.
Paraplanner (Financial Planner), Skills and Experience:
- 3 years’ + experience in a similar role (Paraplanner, Financial Planner).
- Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip PFS)
- Good knowledge and experience of all areas of financial planning - cashflow planning, investment portfolio management, tax planning, pensions, protection, estate planning etc.
- Technically competent with experience of working with complex / high-net-worth clients.
- Proficient in financial planning software (Intelligent Office, Voyant of similar, capable of leveraging technology to streamline processes and analysis.
- A warm relationship builder and collaborative team player.
- Chartered or keen to work towards becoming a Certified/Chartered Financial Planner (support with this will be provided).
