If so, I am working with a client looking to recruit a Payroller on a Part-Time, 10 Month Fixed-Term Contract basis.
Based in Darlington, this is a part-time position until minimum of 31/12/2024. (Roughly around 18.5 hours per week, however, around those busier times there will be extra hours when it is payroll deadline/sign off etc.)
Paying a salary of £24,294 - £25,979 pro-rated to hours worked.
- Process all changes to payroll records as received from HR source data
- Ensure that all employees are renumerated in accordance with their work contracts
- Ensure full compliance with all statutory payments, deadlines and administrative submissions
- Provide an efficient and effective end-to-end payroll service in relation to the lifecycle of an employee, including creation/checking of new employees, variations to contract, payments, deductions and terminations
- Maintain the payroll and budgeting systems with all relevant changes
- Process time sheets, P45s, Attachment of Earnings and any other additional financial amendments to the payroll records
- Process all changes due to sickness and parental leave
- Administer and submit contributions for multiple pension providers
- Review current payroll processes and make proposals to management for improvements
- Maintain expertise and knowledge within the area of transactional services, including payroll, pensions and HR processes in order to
- Provide support and advice, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, legislation, regulations and current business processes and procedures
- Provision of an administrative and clerical support service for all aspects of work for the People service, as directed
- Work as part of the People Team to support the provision of an efficient and effective People service dealing with People enquiries as appropriate
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of People policies, procedures and principles to ensure appropriate advice is given to all employees and managers
- Undertake continuous professional development including participating in performance reviews and attending training as/when required
Experience of using HR, Accounting and Payroll systems is essential for this role, along with payroll legislation relating to payroll services; including HMRC requirements with regards to tax, national insurance, apprenticeship levy, RTI, auto enrolment, PAYE. You must be proficient in Microsoft Office programmes, and proactive and solution focused.
