Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Finance team as a Payables Manager on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis.

As the Accounts Payables Manager, you will ensure a high standard of Vendor/ Stakeholder relations, driving invoice payment on time with the lowest cost impact to the business. Managing the Accounts Payable Team to achieve set goals, driving efficiencies and improvements in line with business values and policies. You will be responsible for providing a professional and cooperative end-to-end service to both our internal and external suppliers/customers, promoting best practice. You will be driving and leading the Accounts Payable team. You will set and facilitate team objectives to drive improvements within the team to provide excellent customer service to the business and drive the development of finance systems to maximise efficiency of process across the department and wider business. You will be confident working with a high volume of invoices and able to have difficult conversations when necessary. Your remit will be instrumental in achieving a high level of efficiency and accuracy in the Accounts Payable process.

In order to do the role, you will need:

  • AAT fully qualified (will consider part or experience)
  • Level 2 English and Maths
  • Experience of managing a payables team for at least 5 years
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Able to prioritise tasks and work towards deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel and knowledge of financial IT systems
  • Customer Service skills
  • Managerial skills including the ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.
  • Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
  • Knowledge of P2P processes
  • Strong people management skills
  • Experience of financial controls and confidence with IT systems included significant experience of AP ERP Systems
