GBR Recruitment Ltd are working exclusively with their long-term prestigious Construction / Built Environment client, recruiting for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join this highly progressive people centric business in Leicestershire. This key part-time role is office based Monday to Friday (08:30am to 1:30pm) working 25 hours per week, will assist with all Payroll activity (weekly & monthly payroll / benefits processing) within the company, working closely with both the Payroll Manager (your direct report) & the wider HR Management team, to ensure accurate & timely payroll processing, plus administration support (to HR).
In this critical part time Payroll position, you will process both the weekly & monthly payroll as well as support the implementation new payroll processes when needed, plus produce reports / summaries (of earnings, taxes & deductions) plus where possible support the wider payroll / HR team with additional project work / administration tasks.
Ideally you will be a qualified Payroll Technician or time-served (ideally CIPP or part CIPP or working towards it) within a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Coordinator, Payroll Officer, Payroll Clerk, Payroll Manager, Payroll Supervisor or Payroll Team Leader function, processing weekly payroll for 100’s of staff (ideally 300+).
Duties:
- Accurately process the weekly payroll for all group companies
- Process starters, leavers, and amendments for the payrolls
- Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
- Calculate employees take home pay
- Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
- Receives and coordinates request for leave and other absences
- Identify and resolves discrepancies in time-sheet and payroll records
- Key contact for answering employee questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records
- Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law
- Management of employee’s holiday payment via manager authorisation
- Produces payroll reports
- Pay over Pension/Agency deductions to third parties
- RTI – Reporting FPS by deadline
- Providing and reporting HR & Payroll metrics using a dashboard for identifying key business trends, working with the HRM & PO
- Recording and checking trade agency invoices and monitoring on pay rates liaising with the HRM
- Payments V’s contractual quarterly governance checks and highlight any discrepancies with aim to resolve
- Timely response to mortgage requests, Health and Safety wage data for claims, and government statistics responses
- Working with and supporting the HR team to ensure seamless processes which will involve delegation from the HR team of specific projects or tasks for completion
- Covering the Payroll Manager when requested for holidays or absences
- Supporting the Payroll Manager at all times to ensure a robust and accurate payroll submission
- Remaining compliant with GDPR at all times
Attributes:
- Strong payroll experience i.e. payroll processing & payroll administration experience (100’s of staff).
- Strong weekly payroll experience is a must.
- Understanding of up to date tax procedures, employee benefits, & any other wage deductions.
- Strong Payroll Software / Payroll Systems experience (any, company use Access People XD system, installed this year).
- Qualified Payroll Technician (CIPP or PQ, or working towards it), or time served in a comparable Payroll position (QBE).
- Construction / Built Environment / Plant Machinery background (would be useful but isn't a must).
