Payroll Assistant

My client are seeking a Payroll Assistant to join their team in East Belfast. This part-time, permanent position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroller, potentially looking to reduce their hours while working with an established firm. The ideal candidate will work 3 full days per week and will be an integral part of the payroll team.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Operate Monthly and Weekly Payroll: Process both monthly and weekly payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Resolve Queries: Act as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries, identifying and rectifying issues or escalating them as necessary
- Manage Pay Components: Handle additional payroll components such as overtime, bonuses, and deductions
- Submit Final Payroll: Prepare and submit final payroll calculations to clients for approval
- Tax and NIC Payments: Advise on or make payments to HMRC for tax and NICs.
- P45 and P60 Processing: Issue and process P45 and P60 documentation and reports
- Auto-Enrolment and Pensions: Manage auto-enrolment and company pension contributions
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with payroll software and systems
- Attention to Detail: Must ensure accuracy in payroll calculations
- Client-Facing Skills: Excellent communication skills for client interactions
- Ability to Multi-Task: Capable of managing payroll for multiple clients effectively
- Comfortable Under Pressure: Ability to maintain performance during peak times
