Payroll Officer

This role involves being an integral part of the Accounting and Finance team in a Payroll Officer position, responsible for processing payroll and ensuring accurate and timely payments.

Description

• Support the planning, prioritising and allocation of all relevant client payroll work within own and teams clients

  Conduct payroll processing during peak times, delegate client work during periods of normal demand

• Review all payroll processing work of the team for accuracy and completeness prior to issuing to client

• Processing payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
• Calculating wages and deductions.

• Ensure payroll processing log is completed

• Ensure payroll action log is completed
• Issuing statements detailing earnings and deductions.
• Handling benefits packages, including pension and insurance.
• Ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other payroll-related requirements.
• Addressing employees payroll enquiries.
• Assisting with payroll reporting to management as needed.

Profile

A successful Payroll Officer should have:

• A robust understanding of payroll procedures.
• Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of relevant software applications.
• Good communication skills to handle payroll queries.
• A strong understanding of tax procedures and benefits administration.(Beneficial)
• Worked in the Practice sector / Chartered Accountancy background
