About the role:
Following a review of the HR / People team and function, an exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join the team who is interested in pursuing a career in HR.
With support given to complete a CIPD qualification the post holder will be undertaking a number of different responsibilities and activities, working as a true generalist ensuring the department provides a high-quality service.
The post of People Administrator will support the team with recruitment, training and development, low level case work and employee engagement activities alongside supporting the process for capturing staff contract changes and ensuring payroll system is updated correctly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the People team to give administration support for all HR processes and themes
- Administer people management processes throughout the employee life-cycle in accordance with College procedures, to include:
- The administration of recruitment processes, supporting shortlisting and interview arrangements
- The administration support for induction staff development days
- Support the onboarding process by conducting and recording employee checks in relation to KCSIE
- Note taking at meetings and staff forums
- Producing internal reports
- Support the internal monthly people audit process
- Support the sickness monitoring and recording process
- Supporting employees with general queries
- General Administration for the department
- Dealing with administrative tasks in relation to family friendly processes (including maternity, paternity and adoption) and other family leave and special leave requests
- Ensuring that sickness absence is recorded in accordance with sickness absence policies, procedures and processes relating to absence
To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:
- A good standard of basic education (Maths and English GCSE pass or equivalent)
- Demonstrable evidence and practical experience of working in administrative roles or with strong organisation skills
- Interested in a career in HR
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to write letters, correspondence, briefing notes and communications tailored to suit the intended audience
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing deadlines
- Motivation, enthusiasm and optimism
- A commitment to safeguarding and the wellbeing of learners
