You will be responsible for supporting day to day operational people matters within the relevant region and will support the effective, safe, compliant, and profitable delivery of business objectives through working closely with the HR Business Partner and the wider People team, to achieve the agreed departmental goals.
We need a People (HR) Advisor to join us in our field-based team and be based in the Coventry area with travel to Birmingham, Nottingham, Oxford and Cambridge from time to time. This is a fixed term 12 month role covering Maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:
- Main point of contact for people queries and casework management through the employee life cycle by providing advice and coaching to managers, ensuring legislation, process and policy is followed.
- Supporting with conducting investigations and advise management through investigation, disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Advise line managers on probationary review and performance management processes.
- Assist managers in effective and supportive management of short term and long-term absences.
- Act as a wellbeing champion and a key point of HR contact in the respective region for mental health and wellbeing support.
- Deliver training modules for existing and new managers.
- Support Leadership and HR Business Partners on all HR and Business lead projects, engaging stakeholders to achieve People Strategy objectives.
- Working with the recruitment team in actioning recruitment and on-boarding processes to ensure settings are operating at required ratios, attracting, managing talent and succession planning for enhanced staff development and business results.
- Maintain HR systems, employee records and data for effective reporting across the designated region.
- Research and develop a resource hub of relevant training, guidance, manuals for both employees and managers.
- Support the business with TUPE activities.
- Support the wider HR team with the administration of the monthly payroll process and employee payroll queries.
- Update systems and maintain personal records for all staff and casework.
- Drafting invite letters, outcome letters, minute taking, filing, managing inboxes, setting up meetings.
- Support the wider team in making process improvements to the HR function.
Essential:
- Experience of People/Human Resources advisory work.
- Collaborative and engaging approach and ability to work as part of a team.
- Good personal organisation and a flexible approach with an ability to pay high attention to detail.
- Experience of producing accurate employment documentation and correspondence.
- Experience of using Human Resources information Systems or software.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels.
- Ability to work to deadlines and within defined standards.
- Ability to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work within a fast p aced, change focused organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
· CIPD qualification Minimum Level 5.
· Employment Law knowledge.
· Experience using Ceridian Dayforce.
· Intermediate MS Office suite skills including, intermediate/advance Excel skills.
· Demonstrates wider business understanding of Children’s Day care settings or similar sector knowledge.
Working Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday.
Location: Midlands, with travel to Oxford and Cambridge.
