The Reward, Employee Relations and Performance (RERP) team oversees, refines and refreshes the Total Reward, Benefits and Performance strategy and policy framework, as well as the Employee Relations strategy and policy framework. To ensure it is in line with market leading benchmarks and global practice, setting the strategic direction on Reward and Benefits as part of the Deal for our people.
The Performance Manager reports to the Performance Senior Manager and, acting as a Subject Matter Expert, they will work across the strategic performance portfolio, including annual year end activities. They will collaborate with multiple colleagues across the RERP CoE and People Function to drive a variety of business as usual activities and work on strategic projects as needed.
Key aspects of this role include:
- Work closely with the wider RERP team and key stakeholders to project manage, plan and deliver annual performance year end review activities, including policies, practices, communications and process.
- Bring subject matter expertise to the performance portfolio, including refining the overall performance strategy and best practices for moderation, goals, feedback, metrics and working with Reward SMEs on pay for performance.
- Create and deliver clear, concise and engaging firmwide materials to guide business stakeholders and the People Function, including presenting briefing sessions.
- Own and update performance guidance for staff/CCs/RLs on MyPerformance site and Employee Portal/ServiceNow.
- Produce data reporting packs for the board to show performance impact tiers and promotion distributions and progress against Inclusion and Diversity targets.
- Work closely with the Talent team (in the Talent, Development & Coaching CoE) to align performance and talent activities. This may also include cross-team work for key projects where needed.
- Work closely with People Solutions who lead on operational activities, ensuring alignment with strategic activities.
- Collaborate with Integrated Services to refine and deliver People Insights metrics data to Career Coaches / Talent Coaches and Relationship Leaders.
- Work with the wider RERP team and People Function to debrief and summarise themes from the annual performance cycle and, looking ahead, identify opportunities to simplify and enhance the firmwide performance approach for the future.
- Work collaboratively with Integrated Services to embed and maximise the use of Workday as effectively as possible.
- Take ownership of projects to review firmwide processes and local approaches to performance; understand where variation exists and why; bring ideas and experience to help achieve greater firmwide alignment.
- Explore innovative opportunities to use technology more effectively.
- Providing reporting data and insights to support performance initiatives and track progress for key stakeholders across the People Function and the business.
- Identify and report relevant quantitative and qualitative themes from wider firmwide data sources including onboarding surveys, youmatter, global departure surveys.
- Work together with the Inclusion, Community and Wellbeing team (ICW) to ensure diversity and inclusion insights are identified and effectively reported for all areas in our performance portfolio.
- Be proactive and confident to provide practical written and verbal advice, guidance and hints in using Workday and data visualisation tools to stakeholders across the business, tailoring content and messages to different audiences.
- Keep up to date with external best practice to inform both the local and global performance strategy.
- Provide ad-hoc performance and promotions related operational support to the Head of Reward, Employee Relations and Performance (RERP) e.g. preparation of materials for People Partner and board meetings etc.

- Passionate about the firm and particularly the people agenda.
- Experience working in performance with hands-on Workday experience.
- Understands the firm, the role of Business Partners, Career Coaches / Talent Coaches and Relationship Leaders in the UK and is able to adapt messages to ensure work is tailored to meet business needs.
- Able to quickly assimilate information and data and present this in a clear, effective manner.
