Royal Birmingham Conservatoire is looking for an outstanding individual to manage its busy Performance Department. This is an important post at the Conservatoire, working at the heart of the organisation realising concerts, festivals, and projects at a professional level to provide students with the vital opportunity for creative engagement in ensemble performance.
The Performance Department is responsible for all of RBC’s orchestral and large ensemble events, and as Manager you will be responsible for delivering this exciting range of musical activities to the highest professional standards.
You will be managing the forward planning for all ensembles, as well as booking suitable personnel and scheduling rehearsals around students’ busy diaries. You will work with external partners such as CBSO and Welsh National Opera, and you will manage the relationship with external conductors and soloists, at both a strategic and operational level.
We are looking for someone with a strong practical knowledge of classical music, and hands-on experience of orchestral management. You will need to be highly organised, with a great eye for detail and a friendly but firm style with colleagues and students.
