Photonics Engineer

As a Senior Photonics Designer you will design optical circuits for next-generation programmable integrated photonics. The job involves the design, simulation and layout generation of components and advanced circuits.

Responsibilities:

• Passive & active photonic device design, simulation, and layout using state-of-the-art modeling and layout tools
• Test and characterization definition of building blocks and circuits.
• Interacting with partners (foundries)
• Translate requirements into photonic IC designs
• Project lead and management.
• Interact with the different departments to ensure measurability and future system integration.
• Identify trends and customer needs for programmable photonics.

To be considered for this position you will need the following:

• Ph.D (or Master's) in Telecommunication Engineering, Physics or a related discipline with an emphasis on Integrated Photonics, with direct experience in Silicon Photonics device design
• Direct experience in design flow and layout scripting
• Reliable, pro-active and self-motivated. Good communication skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Tape-out experience with at least one Silicon Photonic foundry, and its PDK
• Experience with passive and active integrated optics, such as edge coupler, optical splitters and phase shifter
