Platforms And Technology Team Manager (1 Year Fixed Term Contract)

We currently have a very exciting opportunity to join our friendly and creative Capita learning business as the Platforms and Technology Team Manager for a 12-month period. Within this role you will be essential to building the quality and reputation of Learning Technology at Capita. You're not just a talented and experienced operational manager, who has successfully delivered large or complex programmes, but a capable and proactive leader who is genuinely committed to helping the career development of the people you lead and delivering improvements in quality, innovation and impact to our clients.

This fixed-term role sits in a friendly and collaborative small team within a growing and evolving wider business where longer-term opportunities often arise in several exciting disciplines including Delivery Management, Learning Design, and Team Management. What you'll be doing:

• Ways of working - Help the team apply best process and approach. Facilitate communication and collaboration. Run core team activities: stand-ups, sprints, retrospectives, etc.
• Workflow management - Plan deliverables, manage backlogs and field requests. Track work against scope and timeline. Ensure requirements and development processes are met.
• Team metrics - Design and implement tracking and reporting on performance KPIs. With senior team members, align performance metrics to strategy and objectives.
• Project management - Keeping everything organised and running smoothly. Adhering to prioritisation and process, flexing as needed. Tracking details. Using PM tools and systems.
• Communication - Speaking clearly and authoritatively. Writing accurately and concisely. Building morale and buy-in. Running meetings and workshops. Managing stakeholders.
• Leadership - Decision-making and providing clear direction. Maintaining team productivity and wellbeing with emotional intelligence and pragmatism. Handling changes and critical incidents.
• Agile - Investment in Agile/Scrum. Understanding of core principles, how and why they work, and how they can be adapted and applied successfully.
• Data & reporting - Capturing relevant MI and BI data to generate insights and evidence around performance, progress, and issues. Using data and analysis tools.

What we're looking for:

• Experience in a Scrum Master or project management role
• Ideally a background in online learning platforms but similar backgrounds will be considered
• Experience with people management (either as a line manager or managing/leading people as part of projects, outside of line management structures)
• Familiarity with software or digital media development
• Good knowledge of agile/scrum (Scrum master certification a plus)
