The Role: Mid-Level Solicitor - Commercial and Technology Team
The Opportunity: Our client is seeking an ambitious and experienced mid-level solicitor to join their dynamic Commercial and Technology Team in London. The role encompasses a broad spectrum of work, including commercial contracts, public procurement advice, IT supply and support agreements, intellectual property, data protection, and corporate support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical prowess, adept matter management skills, and a flair for nurturing relationships. Enthusiasm, drive, and a commercial approach are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting clear advice and documentation.
- Building and maintaining client relationships, providing updates.
- Direct interaction with clients, understanding and meeting deadlines.
- Assisting with client and internal inquiries, chasing paperwork.
- Active involvement in marketing and business development.
- Collaborating as a team player and sharing knowledge.
- Day-to-day running and management of files and projects.
- Providing clients with monthly invoices and progress reports.
- Organizing and maintaining tidy and accurate files, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Following departmental procedures, Solicitor’s Accounts rules, and the Firm’s policies.
- Undertaking duties and tasks appropriate for the role of a Solicitor.
Qualifications:
- Circa 2 years PQE as a solicitor in commercial contracts.
- Experience in public procurement advice and/or IT contracts is advantageous.
- Strong drafting and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize a demanding workload.
- High attention to detail and consistent production of high-standard work/documentation.
- Flexible approach to work to meet client deadlines.
- High level of commercial awareness and the ability to convey clear information.
- Empathy with the social housing/not-for-profit sector is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and client care skills.
- Strong academic background with a 2:1 or better degree level (or equivalent).
- Familiarity with Word, Excel & Outlook
