NFU Mutual’s thriving Pricing Department are pleased to share an excellent opportunity for a GI Pricing professional to join them in the role of a Principal Pricing Analyst within the Loss Cost Modelling team.

The role of a Principal Pricing Analyst at NFU Mutual offers a unique blend of opportunity to demonstrate your existing technical skills and abilities coupled with the opportunity to receive further training and develop your career. You will act as a technical role model for our more junior Analysts whilst also regularly collaborating with senior management to help the enhancement of the team’s technical capability and the effective development and delivery of fair and accurate prices for our customers.

The role will entail designing, building and implementing pricing models and developing rating logic to meet defined requirements in line with internal and external policies, procedures and standards. And you will benefit from exposure to our whole portfolio of products encompassing both personal and commercial lines.

We are seeking a technically astute professional with experience gained within the General Insurance domain. We feel this opportunity would be best suited to you if you can demonstrate the following key attributes:

• Modelling Proficiency – evidenced by a track record of building GI Pricing models


• Data Analysis Skills - an excellent ability to navigate and analyse extensive data sets


• Pricing Experience – prior experience of working within a GI Pricing function ideally with a focus on modelling


• Inquisitive Mindset – possessing professional curiosity and driven to find the meaning behind the data and to bring it to life


• Proactive Attitude – taking the initiative to drive progress and improvement


• Collaborative approach – an ability to engage with colleagues and work collaborative towards a common goal.

Having prior experience with building models in Emblem and working in RADAR, or experience with data transformation and manipulation using relevant software such as SAS and SQL would be highly advantageous, but it is not a pre-requisite for the role.

And if you can demonstrate a level of modelling expertise applied to predicting claim frequency/severity/loss cost models or applied to more general modelling cases, or the ability to build models and/or perform analyses in R programming language, that would only add to an already impressive CV but again it does not form part of the essential requirements for the role and is something we can support you to achieve.
