Process Operative

Our prestigious client is looking for FLT Licensed Process Operators to join their growing team on a temp-perm basis. Reporting to the Shift Manager, this role is responsible for the processing (via milling and extrusion, drying and coating) of animal food, safely, to the required finished standard, as effectively as possible.

Key deliverables expected are:

• You leave work in the same condition you arrive.
• You process safe product for our customers, right first time, in a clean and controlled environment.
• You achieve the above, at the lowest possible cost by reducing waste, running the asset at the required speed, using your training and experience to resolve asset issues, and effectively escalating downtime for resolution by shift engineers.
• You work well with your peers and under the direction of the Shift Manager to undertake the above, and any other duties commensurate with the role.

Main Duties:

• Running a mill including loading bulk via FLT and hand added ingredients for grinding and transfer to extrusion.
• Running the extruder, dryer, coater cooler and bulk storage incl. all necessary technical checks and recording
• Capture, segregation, and transfer of waste for rework
• Clean as you go, and wider site cleaning as and when required.

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:

• Manufacturing background. Preferably in food, pet food or FMCG.
• Food Safety L2
• Awareness of BRC
• IOSH Working Safely
• Some awareness of CI tools and techniques
• Can do attitude. Seeks a solution.
• Honest and empathetic with a sense of perspective
• Team player. We win together and loose together.
• Open to change and willing to learn.

Shifts will include working Monday-Thursday 06:00-18:00, 18:00-06:00 rotating.

Starting production Monday morning at 06:00 and finishing production Friday morning at 06:00.
