Andy File Associates Limited are working as a Recruitment Business on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position of Procurement Manager
Our client a prestigious name based in Sheffield, is seeking an Interim Procurement Manager to join their Financial Management Team, you will be the central point for procurement expertise throughout the organisation, and have the opportunity to shape the requirements and configuration of a new ERP system which is likely in 2024.
You will manage a small team and offer training and support to a wide range of stakeholders in the college. Delivering value for money will be key in terms of compliance, business partnering and contracts negotiation.
The role will act as part of the Finance Management Team to ensure the key requirements are met in supporting the Head of Finance
This role is ideal if you:
- Have the knowledge and confidence to act as procurement lead in a large organisation
- Thrive on managing an extensive supplier base, supporting stakeholders with a wide variety of needs
- Have a strong desire for an efficient procurement process, identifying and implementing system improvements.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Managing the small procurement team, ensuring service level agreements are met
- Supervising the Procurement Administrator to ensure effective management of the Procurement inbox
- Ensuring compliance with public sector legislation and internal policies, including obligations under the Modern Slavery Act
- Facilitating the use of frameworks and tenders
- Maintaining the procurement system
- Managing the supplier base, including compliance with the supplier code of conduct
- Managing college credit and purchasing cards
Skills required:
- Excellent communication skills, including tailoring communication depending on the level of knowledge of the stakeholder
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Experience of interim assignments in medium / large organisations
- Worked with an integrated finance and procurement system
- Working knowledge of public sector procurement legislation, and experience of frameworks and tenders
- Experience of dealing with many stakeholders in a fast moving environment
Qualifications and other requirements
- A Pass in GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or level 4 and above)
- Competence in Excel inc. presentation of financial information in tables and charts
- Qualified CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement & Supply
- Evidence of pursuing a program of continuing development
