Location: Central Oxford OX1 
Salary: £30,000 FTE (£11,997 actual) 
Hours: Part time – Proposed working days Tuesday and Thursdays, subject to evening courses.
Contract: Fixed Term 2 years 

About the role  
The Producer (Adults & Communities) is a part-time fixed-term two-year role responsible for the planning and delivery, development and evaluation of this art charity’s workshop offer for adult learners and community groups. 

The position forms part of the Communities, Practice & Participation team and is managed by the Head of Communities, Practice & Participation. You will be working with the team to devise a series of informal and formal workshops throughout the year for a diverse range of community partners and working closely with the Head of Communities, Practice & Participation to develop a series of evening classes for the organisations public programme, for adult learners of all interests and abilities.

Main Responsibilities

• To work with the Communities, Practice & Participation team to research and devise creative workshops for adult learners and community groups as part of the public programme at this organisation, bearing participants of diverse abilities and background in mind.
• To deliver excellent, accessible and inclusive workshops with a strong commitment to developing peoples’ creative potential through contemporary visual art practice. 
• To develop regular evening classes and short courses, working closely with the Head of Communities, Practice & Participation 
• To provide introductions for local community groups and visitors at specific events.
• To work with colleagues to plan and manage project expenditure including processing invoices, monitoring expenditure and contributing to the preparation of estimates.
• To undertake general administration including responding to bookings for community group sessions and evening classes, ordering materials, organising travel and hospitality for sessions, recording sessions through photographs and archiving.
• To maintain accurate records on attendance and activities and to coordinate evaluation and feedback to inform best practice for the organisation and peers. 
• To update and maintain mailing lists and contacts relevant to this Adult Learning Programme including contacts with schools and local partners.
• To collate and prepare information for reporting as required by the Curator, Communities, Practice & Participation.
• To participate in staff team activities and attend professional training as necessary and as requested by the Curator, Communities, Practice & Participation.

Person Specification
They are looking for an arts professional (artist, curator, educator) with a strong interest in creative socially-engaged practice and with a minimum of three years’ experience devising and delivering workshops and projects with adult learners, from all backgrounds.  This role requires a highly proactive team worker who demonstrates the importance of effective, consistent communication in a dynamic organisation delivering a range of engagement activities.  It is imperative that the position holder is astute in observing safeguarding practices for all workshop participants in accordance with Safeguarding and Health & Safety policy, which includes risk assessments ahead of workshops.

Essential

• A minimum of three years’ experience of arts education with adult learners
• Experience of working collaboratively with charities and community groups
• Demonstrable experience of working with diverse materials and media. 
• Creative, resourceful and responsive user-centred approach.
• Self-motivated and collaborative. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• DBS checked and trained in safeguarding.
