Job Purpose:
To contribute to the profitable growth of the Atlas Copco Power Technique business through the provision of both technical and marketing support for internal and external customers. You will concentrate on the Power Techniques product ranges, also including business statistic reporting and market trending for direct marketing campaigns.
Your role:
- Provide technical and sales support to customers, colleagues, and the sales teams.
- Plan and prioritise sales activities and customer/prospect contact, aiming to achieve agreed business aims, including costs and sales.
- Manage the teams time and productivity.
- Undertake proposals, including the calculation of prices to achieve sales.
- Develop and maintain good customer relationships at all levels within the area and ensure an excellent standard of product support is provided.
- Develop and deliver presentations to enhance company image, and product knowledge and increase sales.
- Liaise with colleagues and other parts of the group to coordinate activities where appropriate to ensure that sales are obtained.
- Use customer and prospect contact activities, tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems.
- Report on activities and provide relevant management information.
- Communicate, liaise and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
- Consistently analyse the business across the sales areas, considering Market share, competition activities and market prices.
- Assist authorised distributors to market products, where applicable.
- Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
- Assist in developing the teams drive towards exceptional customer service, ensuring the highest level of support is offered to all Customers.
- Identify/develop new markets and/or application opportunities for all product ranges.
- Interaction with Divisions and factories to ensure sales channels always have the latest product information.
- Adhere to health and safety policy and other requirements relating to care of equipment.
- Undertake ad-hoc project work as required.
To succeed, you need:
- Strong engineering bias, working or training in a multidiscipline arena
- HNC/HND or Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering qualification
- Experience of working within a mechanical, electrical or Vacuum environment.
- Must be adept in the use of Microsoft packages, particularly Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
- Excellent command of English and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly in verbal and written form.
- Experience of working in a product sales or technical support environment.
- Knowledge of compressed air, generator or pump industry would be advantageous.
- Self-driven, with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit.
- Competent and confident; ability to modify style in order to achieve results and maintain effectiveness. Reliable, tolerant, and determined. Empathetic communicator, able to see things from the other person’s point of view. Well presented and businesslike.
- Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability. Able to get on with others and be a team player.
- Lives within a commutable distance of Hemel Hempstead.
- Willingness to occasionally spend nights away from home and travel abroad.
- Clean driving licence.
- Have an understanding and an ability to use technical/professional knowledge and information.
- High level of written presentation skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to work with others and prioritise work in line with business needs.

- Experience in dealing with technically and commercially detailed projects/enquiries.
