Job Role
To analyse and optimise the process control of all production processes in the mill so that performance targets are met. To provide technical process leadership on shift when required. To work with other members of the production & engineering teams to identify opportunities to reduce waste, minimise lost time and maximise process efficiency
Essential Criteria
- Applicants should either have a strong academic track record in process engineering related discipline, or be a time served maintenance technician with process control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics or HNC Mechanical, Manufacturing or related Engineering discipline, or a time served Maintenance Technician with suitable experience in a production environment
- At least five years' experience in ideally a food manufacturing environment
- A proven track record in production technical processes, continuous improvement / OEE
- Confidence in all areas of MS Office
- Experience of PLCs, variable speed drives and fault-finding.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to production team members
- Co-ordinate process related fault finding and issue resolutions
- Utilize lean techniques, experience and knowledge to enhance manufacturing processes by improving yield, quality, throughput and productivity
- Work with the production team to drive efficiency advances within manufacturing & operational processes
- Monitor efficiency of production output and swiftly react to resolve any negative trends
- Participate in and lead continuous improvement projects throughout the mill
- Liaise with 3rd party contractors when required to solve problems and develop processes
- Actively participate in the planning and implementation of capital improvement projects
- Work across various departments to achieve management objectives and targets
- Provide support and training to the operations team as required
- Review improvement of equipment, process control sequencing and operating procedures
- Train production operators to improve their process knowledge and technical problem-solving skills
Working hours: Days and Evenings - 39hr week
Salary: £48K including shift premium for evening shift
