Our client, a large UK manufacturing company, owned by a FTSE 100 company, is a specialised high quality manufacturer of niche safety systems for the Defence sector and they supply equipment to governments worldwide.
They are currently looking to recruit a Production Engineer with electronics and Electro-Mechanical experience to facilitate their continued success. In the long run, there is scope to move into a more managerial position with the Production or Engineering department as natural growth and progression within the teams occurs.
Are you looking for a role where you can demonstrate your ability as an all-round Production Engineer? Would you like the freedom to move around with different areas of the Production department, such as production, testing, inspection, NPI & maintenance?
Reporting directly to Directors, you will have the scope to work throughout the business, assisting with Production; not only in a hands-on role, but also in a troubleshooting and continuous improvement capacity as well.
Production Engineer Requirements:
- Previous experience within an Electronics / Electro-Mechanical production environment
- A strong understanding of Electronic, Electro-Mechanical and Mechanical Components
- Any experience of metal suppliers - castings, foundries and precious metal suppliers is an advantage
- Experience of assembly, testing & inspection
- Knowledge and understanding of facilities maintenance
- Understanding of production techniques, systems and processes
- Previous experience of dealing with suppliers and consumers
- Ability to analyse production figures and end of month report
- Previous experience of Continuous Improvement and troubleshooting issues with production
- Must be willing and able to travel nationally and internationally for extended periods of time.
- PLM experience would also be beneficial
Production Engineer Responsibilities:
- Managing build and assembly standards within the company and production departments
- Communicate issues up and down the supply chain - liaise with suppliers and customers and manage delivery timeframes
- Assist with production - assembly, testing, inspection
- Troubleshoot issues with suppliers, internal and external systems & processes
- Suggest ways to improve production - Continuous Improvement
- Basic facilities maintenance / management
- Happy to assist with basic assembly, inspection & testing when needed
- End of month reporting / analysis
