Security Clearance: candidates must be able to obtain and maintain BPSS Security Clearance
- Responsible for the safe operation of the production department
- Participate with colleagues to drive improvements in manufacturing, improving operational performance (quality, OTD, Costs / hours)
- Establish operational best practices in the areas of quality, lean manufacturing, material usage, shipping and receiving, capacity planning, production scheduling
- Maintain standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, right first time and on time delivery
- Effective communication with Management and Project key stakeholders
- Overseeing and managing all Stores operations, including the receiving, quality control, storing, distributing of stock and parts.
- Physically unloading and moving equipment in Stores. Ensuring is this is conducted in line with safe Manual Handling requirements.
- Maintaining stock inventory database - coordinating the ordering and stocking of parts and accessories based on production demand forecasts/plans and stock levels.
- Ensuring timely procurement and delivery of parts while maintaining cost-effective stock levels.
- Raising supplier purchase orders to maintain minimum stock levels.
- Cross checking items delivered against original orders and delivery notes on receipt of goods.
- To quality inspect and check all goods inwards reporting any shortages or damages.
- Address and resolve any issues related to parts orders, including backorders, discrepancies, quality and returns.
- Keep stock control systems up to date, in line with the company’s quality management system.
- Ensure accurate stock management control through regular stock counts and reconciliation.
- Process parts orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely dispatch and delivery to customers.
- Ensure correct packaging and labelling of all goods and orders for dispatch.
- Space Management - ensuring efficient utilisation of stores space ensuring stock is stored safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all racking and stillages are secure in accordance with Health & Safety regulations
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Effective communication with Management and Project key stakeholders
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries regarding parts availability, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Team Management of production & stores teams
- A focused and collaborative leader with previous experience of working as a Production Supervisor / Manager in an electronics environment.
- Someone who can drive manufacturing initiatives across production, assembly and stores.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of production planning and scheduling processes.
- Has excellent people management and communications skills, be able to see the bigger picture yet be analytical and data driven.
- Fully experienced in the use of material Requirements Planning software (MRP) – (IFS / EFACS)
- Previous experience in Defence manufacturing industry
