Overview
As a key member of the Planning and wider Manufacturing Team you will create, maintain, and populate all Production Planners for the press, CNC and RD3 and weekly despatch lists with customer orders, layouts, and breakdowns from SCE with reference to department capacity, labour requirements, and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with Planning Manager to determine customer requirements, forecasts, and give lead times for potential upcoming projects.
- Accurately predict how long each job/project will take to complete and be able to give accurate breakdowns for each department with the requirements needed.
- Attend daily production meetings and prepare reports about production processes with Management including suggestions of ways to improve efficiency.
- Monitor each job/projects progress through the relevant departments to ensure it is following the schedule and will inevitably hit OTIF.
- Troubleshoot problems that occur during production that will affect all plans including staff shortages, sickness, and machinery breakdowns.
- Organise Paperwork including purchase orders, timesheets, customer orders and layouts, holiday approvals, and maintain all records.
- Collect and assess data for the planning department and the production team’s performance on a daily and monthly basis and report this in production meetings.
- Assess stock holding monthly to ensure customer orders are fully covered
- To provide some job cover for colleagues/subordinates in their absence.
- Adherence always to the company’s health and safety policy.
- Apply lean manufacturing where possible.
- Assist to resolve Customer concerns
- Identify errors and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures
- Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues
- Excellent Communication Skills and ability to build strong working relationships
- Any other duties as requested
Requirements
- Demonstratable manufacturing planning experience
- Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
- Sage 200
- Trello
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Excellent management
- Excellent communicator
- Highly organised with an eye for detail
