Elevations Procurement & Supply Chain Team have been exclusively retained to manage a recruitment campaign for our client Orchid Orthopedic based in the heart of Sheffield’s manufacturing community.

Their Sheffield facility based off the Sheffield Parkway comprises a Forge, Foundry and CNC Machining and Finishing processes. It employs approximately 230 people and focuses on joint reconstruction, in particular knee and hip joints and also the instruments required to fit the medical device parts.

Are you an experienced Production Planner / Master Scheduler with a background in fast-paced manufacturing? You will be responsible for planning and scheduling production activities, optimising resource allocation, maintaining inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing costs and delivering the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) for the company. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a keen eye for detail.
They are looking for individuals with experience or a desire to work in the following role;
Production Planner
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedules to meet customer orders, ensuring on-time delivery and efficient resource utilisation.
- S&OP Leadership: Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align production plans with sales forecasts and overall business goals.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between various departments, including production, procurement, and sales, to coordinate and communicate changes in production schedules or priorities.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within the production planning function.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that production plans adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements, working closely with the quality control team.
- Data Analysis: Analyse production data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of production plans and make data-driven decisions.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in Production Planning and S&OP in a manufacturing environment is essential
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using planning and scheduling software/tools and software
- Strong Excel skills are essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Salary: Up to £35,000 - £40,000
5 days on site with potential for flexible hours
