Situation
A brand new opportunity required for a Production Planner. Experienced working on projects within a Manufacturing or Engineering industry, this role is required for a multibillion pound leading global provider of equipment & systems within the Rail & Freight sector looking to expand and develop the production unit with the growing project requirements throughout the year.
This opportunity is to work on a number of exciting projects, in conjunction with senior management, to have the sole responsibility and oversee the planning of all production within a certain business unit.
The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will be able to plan and coordinate the production schedule for all components, from receipt and strip to rework, reassembly, test, and dispatch.
Job Role: Production Planner.
Working Practice: Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 16:30pm, and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm.
Contract Type: Permanent, Full time.
Salary: Up to £40,000 per year, depending on experience.
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Role and Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate the production schedule for all components, from receipt and strip to rework, reassembly, test, and dispatch.
- Monitor production progress throughout the working day, identifying and managing any risks to achieving the plan or on-time delivery.
- Consider all necessary parts, people, production capacity, and equipment/tooling to meet daily demands.
- Communicate production progress to the Master Production Plan, highlighting risks, actions, and successes.
- Analyse available versus required hours for all activities to facilitate informed decision-making by production managers.
- Maintain accurate records and inventory against standard rules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to compile accurate data-driven status reports for all products.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of automated planning solutions.
Essentials Criteria:
- Production/Materials Planning Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in using an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
- Proactive approach.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in using Microsoft Projects.
- Experience in Rolling Stock industry
