Production Technician
Day shift (07:30-15:30) Monday to Friday
We are looking for multiple Production Technicians on behalf of our client; who are a manufacturer of small electronic components, based in Hamble, Southampton.
Reporting into one of the team leaders, the purpose of this role is to build and test complex assemblies, polish, optically test and perform relevant measurements and integrate into final assemblies as required, in accordance with drawings and all other controlled documents.
Role responsibilities:
- Operations will include, but not be limited to:
- Mechanical, electrical, optical assembly and test
- Use of vacuum systems
- Bulk and intricate cleaning of parts and assemblies
- Packing
- Completion of relevant electronic records
- Work with the leadership team to improve processing times as required
- Work within Company policies and procedures regarding safety, quality, material control and maintain high levels of workmanship and cleanliness
- Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending and implementing preventative and corrective measures, working with engineering to introduce new products
- Highly adaptable approach and willing to transition between department to fulfil evolving business needs
- Carry out training of other employees, according to Company training, work instructions and as per the grading structure
- Carry out all reasonable requests from the leadership community
Essential requirements:
- Willing to learn and grow with a can-do attitude
- Previous relevant experience in a manufacturing or process driven environment
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Dexterous with small components
- Experience with varied and complex work
- Experience with serial production
- Proven organisational skills
- IT competency, eg. Microsoft packages
- Good communicator at various levels
- Previous experience in a training environment
- Non-smoker/Vaper (due to the cleanroom environment)
Desirable requirements
- Experience working with Fiber, lasers or splicing
- Lean experience
- Able to read specifications from drawings
- Experience in an ISO 6 or 7 cleanroom
- Experience with or currently studying Train the Trainer course
- SAP experience
Minimum competencies:

- Be competent recording data in spreadsheet or in process control system
- Comfortable with test equipment, keen to learn new equipment functionality
- Display dexterity and great care where required

There are multiple full-time, permanent positions available.

Due to the location, unless you live very local to Hamble, public transport can be difficult.
