The Opportunity

Immerse yourself in programme, project and portfolio management at the heart of one of the country's most important digital transformations. Joining the Digital Service Portfolio Management Office (PMO), you'll help us keep track of the many different strands of digital development activity that are helping to deliver a modern, technologically enabled Parliament. In this exciting development role, you'll have the chance to share in the expertise of our team of highly skilled PMO professionals as they demonstrate the value of digital for Parliament. You can expect to:

  • gain exposure to diverse digital projects and programmes by supporting their delivery
  • learn about planning, information management and reporting mechanisms
  • carry out project administration and record-keeping
  • work with a broad range of people and learn how Parliament works
  • develop specialist PMO competencies that are recognised across the industry

What You Need

Keen to learn and ready to work in a fast-moving environment, you will have:

  • excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and take full responsibility for the quality of your own work
  • flexibility and a can-do attitude, with a willingness to learn, explore and develop new skills
  • effective written and spoken communication skills, including the presentation of complex information
  • good attention to detail and ability to identify key issues within high-volume data environments
  • excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work
  • the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK

About The Team

The Digital Portfolio Management Office sits within the Planning and Delivery Director of the Parliamentary Digital Service. It serves all the projects and programmes within the digital portfolio. As a team of 20+, we support and report the delivery of Parliament's digital change; providing assurance to stakeholders that we are doing things right - holding the corporate conscience in relation to the delivery.
