Fixed Term, initially until Aug 2025, full or part time. Role Purpose & Description The Programme Lead for the Film& TV Educators Network will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the national strategy for our network of teachers. The Film & TV Educators Network was incubated at the London Screen Academy, with the aim of connecting teachers across the country. The early stages of the network have been successful and demonstrated a clear demand for taking this further. Our most recent networking event was attended by over 90 educators from across the UK, where delegates confirmed their need for the network, willingness to help, and proposed a range of next steps for the group. In addition, we have a large mailing list of teachers, an active Whatsapp group, a resource-sharing website, and we have held other events such as a network launch, school visits, and a diversity webinar. Looking ahead, prospective applicants will understand the needs of Film & TV teachers and will be able to shape the direction of the network to meet those needs. There may also be opportunities to contribute to the wider efforts to scale the impact of our parent organisation, the Day One Trust, in education for the screen, games and music industries. Role Responsibilities & Requirements The role As part of this role, you would be: Shaping the strategy for theFilm & TV Educators Network Designing the metrics for measuring and reporting on the network's impact Exploring opportunities for collaborative learning with other educational institutions Organising, publicising, and evaluating network events including regional events and an end of year conference Chairing the Film & TV Network steering group Revamping the network website (https://ftveducators.net/) and curating resources and sharing them with other educators Maintaining and growing the database of Film & TV Educators Network members Issuing network communications including email newsletters and moderating the network Whatsapp group Designing a peer programme for members to work together on curriculum and planning Working with industry to design a set visits programme or other professional development opportunities for network members Consulting with stakeholders on future developments for the Network Deliverables for the role will include A long term strategy for the network Growth targets for network members and engagement statistics Successful organisation of a full conference with speakers, screenings and workshops Regional networking events - for example in the north east An established industry panel to provide guidance on members’ curriculums The establishment of a working group influencing national policy on creative education Redeveloped website with lesson resources for teachers, student work showcase, and industry masterclasses Student Film Festival for network members Curriculum planning and development days The organisation of industry visits for educators A team of regional leads established An established industry panel, with subcommittees such as Curriculum development consultation group Judging panel for student work Work experience coordination group Essential requirements The ability to develop an ambitious and coherent strategy An enterprising spirit with a track record of spotting and realising opportunities Experience managing projects independently, with strong attention to detail and process, and ability to solve problems Confidence networking and engaging with stakeholders at all levels Experience designing, managing, and marketing programmes and/or events Experience measuring and managing the impact of programmes Experience working in the education sector It would also be beneficial if you had the following experience: Experience in Film & TV education Knowledge of how to manage a database of stakeholders The ability to manage a website using Squarespace or similar website building tools Experience setting up and/or managing collaborative networks Flexibilities There is scope to consider applicants who would like to work part time Because the role is not student facing, it may also be possible to work from home for some of the time We are committed to diversifying the screen industries and increasing the diversity of our team is an important step towards this goal.
