About The Role
PMP Utilities, part of the M Group Services Water Division, are the leading service provider in the water and wastewater infrastructure sectors within the UK. As a division, we employ circa 3000 people across the UK and we are looking for aspiring people like you, who are keen to continue their career within the Water Industry.
PMP Utilities are an established industry leader providing single sourced solutions within the field of Engineering. We specialise at mechanical engineering in confined spaces predominately for the water utility sector. Our areas of expertise include bespoke engineering solutions, mechanical maintenance, hazardous areas and confined spaces, Amex-10 internal pipe joint repair system, project management and preventive maintenance.
Due to our continued expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Project Manager - Water Industry
Reporting to the Director of Operations - Scotland, the Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the successful planning, delivery, monitoring, controlling and closure of various projects within wastewater and clean water sites. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective communication, leadership, and instruction to all levels of the customer and delivery teams. The Project Manager will be responsible for considering all aspects of time, cost, quality and safety throughout the concept, planning, delivery and close out phases of projects.

As the Project Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team on projects primarily in the water & wastewater industry.
- Responsible for project delivery and managing the inspection team.
- Responsible for the day-to-day finances of the project
- Attend and contribute to internal and external reviews and progress meetings.
- Participate in collaboration meetings with other engineering disciplines and professionals.
- Review of work scopes & specifications
- Review and Quality Check all project data and information.
- Continual professional development including professional registration is encouraged and actively supported.
Required skills and experience
- Strong Project Management experience within the water industry
- Mechanical and Civil engineering - Must possess a good range of engineering knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Design, Fabrication & Manufacturing - Must possess a broad range of engineering knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Excellent communication skill required with the ability to quickly develop and build rapport with customers and colleagues.
- Strong commercial and safety awareness.
- The ability to manage several complex projects at once.
- Excellent facilitator, able to think, plan and execute decisively making sure that nothing is missed or left to chance.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to always maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Previous management/leadership experience with a proven track record of managing/leading, supervising, motivating, developing successful engineering teams.
- The desire to progress within the business to join the PMP Senior Management Team.
- Highly self-motivated, hands-on with strong team leadership as well as effective interpersonal skills.
- Willing to participate in all aspects of the project cycle, from enquiry to delivery.
- Promoting, developing, and ensuring best health and safety practices across all aspects of the company’s operations.
- Act as an ambassador for the company, supporting and promoting the company goals, vision, strategy, and values.
- Work as an integral operational team member to support and achieve company goals, promoting the highest standards of behavior, attitude, and leadership to the role, working environment and company.
- Commit to own professional development, enhancing and improving skills and knowledge to the benefit of all.
- Using one’s knowledge, experience, and skillset to enhance, teach and develop all other operational staff within the business to help future proof the company.
