The Business

Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager who has direct experience working within the Solar PV renewable energy sector. Our client has a strong reputation throughout the renewables sector supplying various products and services to both commercial and domestic markets. The business focuses on delivering innovative and bespoke products to solar pv, heat pump, air conditioning, wall insulation and battery storage markets.

The organisation currently has an annual turnover in excess of £5M, but within the next 12-18 months, is on course to achieve a £10M turnover. The company has a high growth mentality and they are seeking a motivated, knowledgeable and ambitious Estimator from within the renewable sector, to help materialise the organisations ambitions. This is truly an exciting time to be joining the business.

The Role

• Effectively taking ownership of projects and delivery
• Organising installations and deploying resources
• Estimating projects within the renewables sector focusing on solar pv and heat pumps - drawing up assessments of how much it will cost to provide clients or potential clients with the company’s products and services
• Researching materials, equipment and labour costs
• Gathering quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers
• Working as a commercial entity within the business – helping to secure work and win business
• Assessing project risk and undertaking feasibility studies within projects
• Ensuring that projects and supplied quotes are carried out with accuracy – ensuring projects are delivered to time scales
• Formulating and checking quotes for company tenders
• Organising contracts and ensuring work is delivered in accordance to set delivery briefs
• Helping to secure long-term business relationships
• Attending site visits with new clients, building relationships and ensuring a high-quality customer focused service

The Person

• 2 years’ minimum Project Management experience within the Solar/Heat pump sector
• Previous experience working within the commercial sector preferred to domestic
• Knowledgeable and well contacted within the wider supply chain
• Commercial focused, able to work with accurate quotes and drive new business
• Ability to develop pre-existing relationships and help secure new business
• A dynamic, hungry and ambitious individual
• Able to travel to client sites (minimal travel)

The Package

• This is a permanent contract from day one.
• The hours of work are 8am-5pm (40-hour week)
• Salary is circa £45K depending on experience. 22 days holiday plus stat, mileage allowance and free on-site parking
