If so, the role of Project Officer across the Hospitals, Continuing Health Care and Financial Services teams in might be the role for you.
As a Project Officer, you will support a range of projects as part of the programme of change in the service. You will take a key role in supporting the development of policy and guidance to address identified areas of improvement.
You will work autonomously and as part of a small team to support and enable continuous service improvement. You will work with a range of internal and external partners at all levels to ensure the successful delivery of assigned work.
The service works daily with multiple professionals, including the public, private and voluntary sector to deliver key frontline services in communities across East Sussex. We support those eligible to live their lives independently by promoting choice and control in the delivery of services.
To take the lead on small projects or sub-projects (typically less than six months, with limited budget) alone or with a small team, actively participating in all phases. To provide project support to the Programme Manager and Project Manager.
Key tasks:- Take the lead on small projects or sub-projects (typically less than six months, with limited budget) alone or with a small team, actively participating in all phases. This will include end-to-end processes and procedures for operational and back-office staff and IT systems.
- Deliver the agreed outputs and products, objectives and benefits within agreed timescales and available resources.
- Create all necessary project documentation in line with best practice.
- Ensure that the project continues to deliver against the business case by undertaking cost / benefit analysis throughout.
- Keep Project Board fully briefed on progress of the project, highlighting problems at an early stage and making recommendations for solutions.
- Work in partnership with stakeholders as required. This may include undertaking consultation exercises where required.
- Improve the efficiency of experience of services users across the service whilst ensuring best use of public resources.
- Oversee project budgets within defined parameters, including profiling where required, and to monitor project expenditure and income.
- Arrange for the closure of the project, including customer sign off and feedback, and to assist in the production of adequate documentation for hand over to the appropriate operational and financial managers.
- Give direction and support to or directly manage other staff associated with the project, as necessary.
- Maintain an overview of best practice, innovation and new approaches nationally and ensure these are reflected in the project.
- Ensure that learning from the project is disseminated to other staff.
