SalaryOverview:
One of the UK’s largest housing providers is seeking a Project Officer to ensure efficient delivery service for specified projects.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in social housing however this is not essential.
The overall purpose of the Project Officer is to ensure contract and works are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Role & Responsibilities of the Project Officer:
- Effectively manage and supervise contractors/consultant to successfully deliver projects
- Undertake a range of property surveys, prepare specifications and schedule of works for tender
when required - To ensure that work is carried out within the budgets and that value for money is
achieved - To undertake day to day contract management of planned investment projects
- Manage contract (applications and variations) and financial documentation to ensure all
documents are processed in accordance with the quality management process - Prepare and collate tenant, property, and service charge data in preparation for Section
20 notices and respond to observations - Agree final accounts for projects and reconcile final costs against agreed allocated
budgets - Undertake a range of property surveys
- Preparing specification and schedule of works for tender
- Maintain communication and consultation to the highest possible standards of
customer care with residents/groups - Organise, convene, and chair where required scheme/project specific team meetings
and prepare concise minutes where required.
Essential Skills & Experience of the Project Officer:
- Education to A level standard
- Hold or working towards a construction related project management qualification
- Valid/Relevant CSCS card or work to obtain one
- Knowledge of housing construction, component replacement and budget control and
management - Knowledge of contract management, relating to capital and cyclical works
- Budget management
- Excellent communication skills
- Organised and methodical approach to work
- £38k - £42k equivalent, depending on experience
