The University of Surrey invites applications for the role of Property Development Consultant to guide the realisation of Blackwell Park , an ambitious project comprising 1,800 houses and significant commercial properties. Blackwell Park will become an important legacy for the University of Surrey. About the role As a key advisor reporting to the President and Vice-Chancellor, you will play a pivotal role in determining the strategic direction of the development of Blackwell Park. As a Property Development Consultant, you will: Drive project strategy with the Blackwell Board and University leadership. Oversee Master Design, ensuring alignment with the project vision. Establish key partnerships and manage relationships with stakeholders. Develop a strategy for affordable housing and student accommodation. Maximise efficiencies of the University’s balance sheet Manage the initial set-up through a small team complemented by consultants, contractors and external partners. About you We are looking for an influential and seasoned chartered Town Planner / Chartered Surveyor with extensive experience in large residential developments. You will possess significant expertise in working with local planning authorities and in the valuation of development land. You will have a strong track record of setting up property joint ventures and be able to demonstrate through your experience the delivery of large scale developments both residential and commercial. We are looking for someone to join us as soon as possible, on a fixed term contract basis, however we are open to considering other forms of engagement, as well as part time.
