Reed are working with a client based in Tamworth who are one of the UKs largest manufacturers. They are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team to manage the Purchase Ledger, process payments, and handle accounting tasks.
You will work closely with the Finance Manager and be the main point of contact for regional teams and branches regarding invoices and payments. You will also have the opportunity to expand your role and gain additional experience in other areas of finance, such as project work and ad hoc tasks.
Job Title:Purchase Ledger Clerk
Salary: £24,000 -£25,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hour week
Mon - Fri: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Location: Tamworth - Office based
What will you do?
As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for:
- Manage the Purchase Ledger, from inputting invoices and matching purchase orders, to reconciling statements and processing payments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Communicate with regional teams and branches regarding invoice and payment queries and information.
- Verify and book in all stock invoices and follow up with suppliers for credit requests
- Handle other accounting tasks, such as coding payments,expenses and credit card statements, and meeting tight month end deadlines
- Support the Finance Manager with preparing and executing supplier payments, using various methods and currencies
- Take on additional project work and ad hoc tasks to broaden your skills and knowledge in finance
What do you need?
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in a busy and varied accounts department
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Confident and effective communication skills
- Proficient in IT, especially accounting software and Excel
- Flexible and eager to learn and take on new challenges
- Result-driven
It would be nice if you also have:
- Experience of using Microsoft Navision Accounting Software or any other accounting software such as Sage
- Previous experience of handling high transaction volumes in an orderly fashion
