Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised bookkeeper to join our team. The bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, reconciliation and payments. Working closely with our accounting team, you will help manage the day-to-day financial transactions and ensure the company's finances are accurately recorded and reported. A strong understanding of cloud software’s and technology is necessary. An eye for detail is required to ensure methodical purchasing. Transparent online communication with the finance department.
Responsibilities
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage
- Perform partial checks of the posting process
- Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
- Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of every bank account
- Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
- VAT returns
- PAYE
- Paying of clients/contractors
Requirements
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is a plus
Xero, expert is preferred.
