My client is an advanced manufacturing company specialising in electronic and electrical components and are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join with

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Respond to material requirements for project-related orders, independently scheduling orders and monitoring delivery dates.
• Request quotations from suppliers, handle price negotiations, and manage complaints.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding non-conforming goods.
• Keep MRP software up to date with supplier lead times to ensure accurate stock availability.
• Collaborate with Stock & Logistics Technician to maintain stock of consumables/Kanban items.
• Purchase items required for the day-to-day running of the business, following the Approved Suppliers List and Operating Procedures.
• Work across CU to maintain purchasing efficiencies.
• Maintain the Approved Supplier List and supplier files with key correspondence/agreements and questionnaires.
• Inform Supply Chain Management of potential order shortfalls.
• Run a weekly Open Order list, showing overdue suppliers and progress deliveries, keeping the Production Manager informed of shortfalls.
• Maintain Company Master Data and create statistics and reports.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships.

Requirements:

• Relevant professional experience in purchasing
• Market knowledge in electronics is an advantage

• Annual Leave: 26 days per year, pro-rata for start date. Increases to 27 days after the completion of the first year and 28 days after 8 years of employment.
