The Client

Our clients is a supplier of Food Commodities into the UK Marketplace. Currently looking to recruit the brand new role of Purchasing Manager.

The Role

• Mentor, develop and manage the purchasing team.
• Improve and develop existing supplier relations.
• Grow potential supplier database.
• Develop margin opportunities, through improved negotiation with existing suppliers, and introduction of new suppliers.
• Liaise with Head of Sales and Company Directors, to develop and increase the product portfolio.
• Accurately process, authorise and maintain, associated purchase orders and import procedures.
• Accurately maintain all company records and CRM systems associated to the purchasing department.

The Candidate

• Experience managing a small team
• Experience as a Purchasing Manager within the Commodities marketplace - ideally Food / FMCG
• Ability to develop a small team
• Experience managing a large range of Customers and Suppliers
• Ideally some Import experience
• ComputerskillsandknowledgeofOutlook,Word,Excel
• Goodcommunicationskills,bothoralandwritten
• Highlevelsofself-motivationdemonstratinga'cando’proactive,flexibleandpositive attitude
• Abilitytoworkwithinateam,underpressureandat speed
• Confident
• Goodsenseofhumour
• Goodwork ethic
• Commutable to the West Midlands
