Job Title: Purchasing Manager
Location: Solihull - Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 depending upon experience

Job Description: Concept-IT are delighted to be working with a long-term client as they look to recruit a highly skilled Purchasing Manager with a strong background in technology to join their team. As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's procurement processes related to technology products and services. You will work closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure that the organisation obtains the best value for technology purchases while maintaining high quality and reliability standards.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for technology products and services in alignment with company objectives.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish relationships to ensure competitive pricing and favourable terms.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand technology needs and requirements and provide guidance on procurement options.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and product innovations to inform purchasing decisions and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage inventory levels and optimize supply chain efficiency to minimize costs and mitigate risks.
• Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Analyse spending patterns and develop cost-saving initiatives to maximize profitability without sacrificing quality or reliability.
• Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.

Requirements:

• Ideally MCIPS qualified or actively studying towards.
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role, with a focus on technology procurement.
• Strong understanding of technology products and services, including hardware, software, telecommunications, and cloud solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and optimise procurement processes.
• Experience of licensing contracts would be a distinct advantage
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a strategic mindset.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

The role is being recruited on a hybrid basis, and the client does offer flexibility. Office location is Solihull, so easily accessible from M6/M42 with excellent public transport links too, alongside ample on-site car parking.
